Hello,
I had a question about documentation for these. I'm finding more and more things that are frustrating me with ICD-10.... So for meniscus tears for example... Sometimes the MRI report doesn't say what kind of tear, so then what, I'm stuck with using the unspecified tear of unspecified meniscus? If I know which meniscus it is... I don't know, I just find it irritating that you have to use an unspecified code for stuff like that... Is there any way I can use the "other" code? The same thing for OA. If they don't specify what kind of OA it is, then the only choice we have is unspecified OA unspecified knee....
These two DX are just driving me nuts. Does anyone have any suggestions? Yes, I know for OA, the doctor's should know so I can give it back to them... but for meniscus, that seems to be an issue :/ If it's not in the MRI, then how would we know?
