Can I get some advice on a CPT code. My provider removed mesh that was adherent to the bladder during his prostatectomy. I understand removal of mesh laparoscopically is 49999. What CPT code do I benchmark this to? Also what ICD 10 code would I use??

Need more information? why was the mesh there or in the past why was a mesh placed? Why was the prostatectomy performed?

The mesh was there becuase of a prior inguinal hernia repair. Provider said There was an excessive amount of mesh that was adherent to the anterior bladder wall. This was prohibitive from us fully dropping the bladder. We had to perform excision of this large mesh fragment from lateral and medial aspect of the anterior wall. Once it was compleltely excised I then peeled it off the detrusor muschle and then we removed it.

The radical prostatectomy was performed becuase of prostate cancer. Provider didn't state how long it took for the excision of mesh. Maybe 55866-22 is the way to go?
