The Dr documented Diabetes with microalbunuria should i code 250.40 with 791.0 or should i just code 250.00 and 791.0 seperate.

I think, Microalbuminuria occurs when the kidney leaks small amounts of albumin into the urine, in other words, when there is an abnormally high permeability for albumin in the renal glomerulus.

And Microalbuminuria (ICD 791.0) categories into "Symptoms, Signs & ill-defined Conditions" & for Category: 250 - Diabetes mellitus with 4 digit specification need menifestation from specific categories of disease viz., Renal, Circulatory, ophthalmic etc. not sign/symptoms.

So 250.00 & 791.0 is the correct coding for this encounter.
