Middle phalangectomy contracted toe

Can I have some imput on the following procedure:

dx: contracted toe

operation: Middle phalanx phalangectomy

Op note reads: .. incision was made at the level of the middle phalanx of the fourth toe. ... next the extensor tendon was identified & retracted. Next using a bone saw, the base of the middle phalanx was resected.

I am thinking 28124 or maybe 28285. Any imput would be appreciated? Thank you.

28285 is resecting the head (and neck) of the proximal phalanx so that wouldn't fit with this description - part of the middle phalanx is resected here. 28124 (with either -T3 if left 4th or -T8 if right 4th toe modifiers) is appropriate. Hope that helps.
