If a patient that has seen a Midwife for prenatal care, presents for induction due to fetal growth restriction, and one of the providers from our group performs the H&P and Rounding, is the H&P and rounding prior to delivery billable in this scenario? I know we would bill the delivery only code of 59409 and the discharge, but I wasn't sure about the three days prior to delivery. She presented on 11/14 at 37 weeks, our provider's performed the H&P on 11/14, rounding on 11/15 & 11/16 with vaginal delivery on 11/17 with discharge on 11/18.

All delivery codes include the admission H&P. If there is a medical reason to round on her after admission and at least 24 hours before delivery you can bill that visit. The visit on the date of delivery will always be included as well.
