Provider documents in the Impression: Mineral bone disease related to end-stage renal disease on Hectorol and Sensipar as an outpatient. How would you code this diagnosis? I think N25.0 is appropriate, but i've been instructed to use E83.89/E83.9. Please help me understand the how to get to the correct code for the scenario.

Thanks in advance.

If your supervisor is instructing you to use an E code, I guess you should go with that. But I think the N25.0 is more specific to the reason for the bone disease so not sure why you would use the E code.
