In the 2015 OPTUM Neurosurgery guide to coding and reimbursement under CPT 22551 under coding tips it states "If a complete discectomy is performed, report separately and append modifier 59 or X(EPSU)." further instruction to see 63075-63078. Is this correct? Should 22551, and 63075-59 ever be used together?
