This pt had a endovascular procedure done which has a 90 day global period. He now comes in the office due to a Seroma in the groin area where the catheters were placed. The doctor does a aspiration of seroma (10160).

My question is what mod to use or is included in the Global period? Mod 78 states pt has to go back to OR. This is a Medicare patient & it states this in the modifer rules also.

I feel he needs credit for this and the pt has had this done three times.

I now have to add to this previous thread.

Proc 10160 has a 10 day global and the pt comes back 5 times for a 10160 bec of pain in the limb due to seroma pressing on nerve. What modifer should be used within the 10 day global of the 10160?? I am using 79 for the 90 global on AAA repair but now I also have to have a modifer for the 10 global which is related.

These were not staged bec he was to come back only if needed. I am stumped on this one! HELP

Any ideas anyone

Thanks!
