Does anyone know if I can report moderate sedation codes with 93312- TEE and 92960 - Cardioversion?

Thanks in advance

I think that pgs 676-678 in the "2017 CPT Professional" would help you. It breaks down MS, (Moderate (Conscious) Sedation) and the related codes 99151-99157.

As a CPC ,that codes for a Cardiology Practice, I seek knowledge from three sections of the CPT manual. Since Medicine is one of the three sections I deal with on a daily bases I would lean towards 99156, Initial 15 mins, 5 years or older. Then add on 99157, each additional 15 mins. Review when not to report, as well as, age of patient, and is the physician performing the procedure while supporting MS or is there a "Independent trained observer" performing MS.

I hope this helps. Let me know what you think.

Sincerely, Lisa
