Wiki Modifier 22 - My surgeon did a total hip arthroplasty

My surgeon did a total hip arthroplasty which was more complex than the norm therefore I am coding/billing with the modifier 22. My question is this: Do I put the modifier 22 on the assistant surgeon as well or is this strictly for the primary surgeon? I'm having a brain cramp!
