Hi -During a 90 global, patient is re-admitted to the hospital with primary DX of post-op atrial fibrilliation (had a CABG). CAn this be bille dwith a 24 modifier? Please help.:eek:
 
The global period includes E/M services for typical postoperative follow-up care. It seems that the atrial fibrillation would be a complication which requires significant evaluation and management above and beyond that of the typical follow-up care, which I believe would justify the use of modifier 24.
