Treating bilateral knee fractures do I bill 27520-50 for fracture care or 27520 and 27520-59?

You can bill 27520-50 or 27520-RT & 27520-LT, you do not need a -59.

Check with your payers to see which they prefer when it comes to using the 50 or the LT and RT. The 59 would be used more if you had 2 of the same codes but different areas. An example being the 2 procedures done of the lower extremity (ankle, foot or knee). Hope this helps!
