Hi all! Could you use a Mod. 52 if the surgeon had multiple attempts at placing a Foley catheter at his intial encounter in the hospital and did not succeed? (They took the patient to the OR the next day)

It seems the procedure was unsuccessful. If the physician performs atleast some part of the procedure and couldn't able to do the complete procedure you can use 52. But insertion of foley's catheter itself is just inserting it and it was not succeeded.

If it is unsuccessful you should not code it.
