should i use 53 for this injection or just not charge it? i'm charging for the physician in the office. it's the do not use for "elective cancellation" part of the description that's tripping me up. it was too painful for the patient to continue, so is that considered elective?...or do they only mean life-threatening when they say "discontinued due to extenuating circumstances or conditions that threaten the well-being of the patient."

this is from the note:

The patient was taken to the procedure room and positioned prone on the fluoroscopy table. A scout film was taken to identify the correct level. The skin was prepped and draped in the usual sterile fashion. The overlying skin and subcutaneous tissue was anesthetized using a 25-gauge 1-1/2 inch needle with 1% preservative-free lidocaine for a total volume of 3 mls. Then a 22-gauge 3.5-inch Quincke spinal needle was advanced over the joint space under intermittent fluoroscopic guidance. Needle position was confirmed in the AP View. :The patient wished for me to stop the injection as he was having pain only at the insertion site of the needle. The needle was only slightly in his subcutaneous and muscular layer. The needle was removed before checking a lateral as he wanted me to stop immediately. He was able to ambulate through the room without any type of difficulty after the aborted procedure. There is no signs of foot drop.

TIA
