I am a coder in Kansas and wondering how the different payers pay out when you apply a modifer 53 to a procedure code.

honestly I dont have a lot of experience with it, and the only time I did all that happened was the company asked for documentation, and then I had to appeal it. Eventually it was paid, but like I said I have only had one situation like that.
