Wiki Modifier 58 vs. 79

Good morning,

I just want a little clarification.

I have a patient who came in for a benign destruction on the buttock and then came back 7 days later to have another destruction done on the face which is new problem. But the dx codes on both dates are the same for the e/m code and procedure code with two additional dx's. I'm thinking modifier 79 would be more appropriate because of the new locations and additional dx.

Please clarify. Thanks.

I agree, I think 79 is the correct modifier in this instance.
