I work for an Ophthalmology office and have a question about modifier 59. The doctor had to do a pterygium excision before doing a cataract extraction with IOL implant as out patient hospital procedure. Mod 51 is not approved for ambulatory surgical center or hospital outpatient use. Would modifier 59 be the appropriate choice? Thank you
