Wiki Modifier 62

A procedure requires 2 physicians, i.e. TAVR procedure. Each physician must report modifier 62 for co-surgery. Is there regulatory guidance out there that says both physicians must do OP note for each of their parts of the procedure? Thank you, in advance, for any help

This is a bit old, but the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons says they both have to dictate.

There is a table here showing each person's responsibility in each situation (assisting, co-surg, etc.), and they also say both have to dictate.

Medicare states you can only use -62 when the two surgeons are of different specialty, with some exceptions, and there is more info here. Unfortunately, that Medlearn article did not address documentation.
