Wiki Modifier 83

I don't know if I am just having a mental block, but can anyone tell me if there is a modifier 83 & what it is? I cannot find it ANYWHERE. It is on a bill I am working with.

There is no active modifier 83. The modifier that you would use for assistant at surgery (NP or PA) would be AS. For an MD/DO, even back in 2010 it was modifier 82, not 83. The reference mentioned above is from 2011, and when I looked in my CPT book from 2010 and 2012, there is no such modifier and no indication that there was a modifier 83 that they might have deleted. I believe this is actually a type-o that they meant to say modifier 82. The modifier on your bill must be a type-o as well.
