Can a 79 modifier be used in an ASC?

According to the "Modifiers Approved for Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) Hospital Outpatient Use" in Appendix A of the CPT book, yes, -79 is allowed.

Some payers don't care about that appendix - but it's there.

Yes you can but you have to make sure your documents support that procedure is unrelated to the original procedure becuase Pt. I believe is still in Global period.
