I need someone who knows molecular coding to PLEASE HELP by sharing websites, article and/or CHEAT SHEETS, as I am getting denied for molecular panels I'm trying to bill. Our lab recently started billing panels like UTI and Respiratory panels, and 87481 is ALWAYS denied.
I am about to lose my mind. My CEO is looking to expand to even more panels, and y'all-I need this job! Please someone explain to me like I'm 5, how do I bill these? Why am I getting denials?
I know there must be someone here who knows molecular coding. I even asked at the recent Medicare Webinar on lab billing, and they didn't answer my question. I think they don't want anyone to know, so they can continue to deny claims.
HELP!

Hope you can view the visit dx codes assigned on same date lab order given or view lab test results associated with this lab test done. CPT 87481 is type yeast ungus called Candida Species. Check out the dx blocks B37 and the location body area has the bacteria. Penis B37.42, vagina B37.3 lip B37.83 thrush is B37.9. Just listing N39 as dx is not enough, the provider is searching or this bacteria and results will show is positive or what provider is searching . Also dx Z01.89 can help too. as 1st. Last dx code could be Z13.89 geniourinary disease. Also check out the Z13 dx block as last dx code linked to type disease screenings. Lab test can be order by provider is suspected or results given by the pathological doctor to be used. I d review all lab posted comments in this section to help you learn more
I hope this data helps you

PS See dx R78-R95 abnormal lab results per body area which pathologist have on his report you review
