Looking for information on how to use modifiers XU and XS for molecular pathology.
 
Hi - This isn't specific to XU and XS, but chapter 10, section F, of the NCCI policy manual is focused on molecular pathology and covers some information about reporting procedures together. https://www.cms.gov/files/document/chapter10cptcodes80000-89999final112021.pdf You also may have some luck checking policies for modifier 59 instead (e.g., https://www.uhcprovider.com/content...ement/COMM-Molecular-Pathology-Policy-FAQ.pdf). You also may want to check the path/lab forum to see if it's been discussed there. Best of luck!
