I have a question in regards to billing for monkeypox vaccine. The current code 90611 is for 0.5ml. After the release of the code set for 0.5ml FDA approved for adults to get the 0.1ml dose. This is a free vaccine from Fed govt so sooner of later they will want stats on how many were given, what are you using to bill the 0.1ml dose? are you holding all claims in hopes of a new code or are you billing using unlisted? I would really appreciate some info

Hi Dtuszynski
I d bill using the CPT 90611 and make it zero fee. This way when run HIM reports using that CPT give you amount of vaccines dx Z23 done in certain amount of time. Also add a dx code to determine what type of monkeypox was discovered and validated by lab test use dx B04, and Z11.3 or Z01.89 code. Was the monkeypox sex related Z11.3 orZ87.4 .Or a contagious bacteria skin disease B08, A49, A64? All depends on documentation.
I hope I helped you.
