I am moving from doing anesthesia billing (for the past 16 years) to a new job heading the billing department for a physical/sports therapy practice. Any advice I can get would be appreciated as far as the coding, if there are particular payers that give you problems or what to look for when they are paying/denying, some good resources to use to learn, or anything else I may need to know. Thank you so much!! Tammy Sullivan, CPC

Hi there, check into the APTA website as well as OT/MT associations. Washington state has the WSPTMA which meets or met once a month to go over any billing/management problems. It's a great networking opportunity as well. It's made up of managers from privately owned practices. If you're not in WA, check into something like that for whereever you are.
