can you send this claims to payer with the ordering DX knee pain example? Then Pt comes in for follow up apt and gets results coded on that visit? OR do they MRI need to be coded after the report has been done?
 
You can only code diagnoses that have been confirmed. If no definitive diagnosis is listed, you code for symptoms.
