This question is not very clear... what's the reason is for the MUA? Is a prosthetic joint??? I would assume any MUA done on 3 different dates would have to be considered on a case-by-case basis.
I worked for an ASC and we do the MUA's on 3 different DOS and we get paid for all of them if the procedures are not experimental or investigational, for instance I get deny by CIGNA and other carriers for CPT 22505.
thanks noraz...that's the way I did them at the ASC and haven't done them since. Just wanted to clarify. Carriers love to deny as 'experimental' but they usually get paid in the end - just a lot of paperwork..
