The Cardiologist I bill for uses CPT code 78494 and HCPCS codes A9560 & A9538 for Blood Pool Imaging. Everything gets paid except the A9538. Does anyone know why this might be happening.
 
Criteria for Radiopharmaceutical Agent Reimbursement

A brief article at health.cch.com/netnews/coding/cca102910.html#HT2 addresses the denial of this code when billed with 78494. I'm not sure if this info would be applicable to your payer. Give me a call if you'd like to discuss the denial in more detail. I am currently working on a number of bundling denials.
