Hello,

I have been in the anesthesia billing industry for almost 10 years and we have never quite had a good reference for how to bill split cases. (One provider relieving another)

How would this be represented on a claim for best practice? Please provide references if possible.
I cannot find anything helpful from reputable sources aside from Medi-Cal which is fairly specific but would only apply to that insurance.
Thank you for your time!

My understanding is the one who puts the patient under gets to bill and the splitting up after payment is done internally. No real sources i could either find either, just a department created policy from an anesthesia group in Florida. starts in the middle of page 7. Seems like it might be up to the office to implement a policy vs a coding rule.
