All of these positions are onsite, full-time with one of our hospital clients in Norfolk.
Requirements:
*Certified Professional Coder (CPC), Certified Medical Coder (CMS), or other certification in medical coding required.
*Clinical certification (MA, LPN, Tech, etc.) preferred.
*Minimum of 3 years experience required.
2 Clinical Coding Auditors:
*The Clinical Coding Auditor performs a number of functions including those of physician education, internal auditing, coder education, management of AR queries/problems, and liaison with external auditors for corporate audits. The internal audit program assures optimal ethical reimbursement for patients, and also assures that the coding practices fall within established compliance guidelines. Both ICD-9 and CPT 4 coding methodologies are used in the internal audit activity.
*The Auditor must exhibit competence in ICD-9, CPT, HCPCs, and Modifiers for ambulatory billing. All queries arising from the audit process are managed by the Clinical Auditor. Follows audit plan, completing numerous audits and providing follow-up to coders, management, and physicians. Looks for new problem areas, trends, etc, and advises Director of AR Management of same. Coordinates and schedules internal and external audits with Managers and TCs for Coding and Operations.
System; Uses IDX, Epic, C-Bay, Med-Aptus, IM-Bills, MD Everywhere, Claims-Manager, MD-Office, Med-Assets, copier, and fax machines in knowledgeable manner.
2 Multispecialty Coding positions (one for vascular coder and one for Cardiology):
*Comprehensive understanding of the entire billing cycle, medical terminology, coding, charge entry, insurance adjudication, contractual agreements, payment posting, statements and collections. Must be organized, detail-oriented, accurate, and professional and must possess CPC certification and other coding certifications
