Hello!
If a patient has an EEG done on say the 16th and 17th and the physician does his interpretions for BOTH studies on the 18th, how are you coding these? As per description, this code is only to reported one unit per day. Since the studies are for two different test days, we tried coding the 95816-26 two times applying a -59 modifier to the second one to show that the interp was for a different study on a different date of services. We have just been getting denails on these. Is there anyway to get around this and be able to bill for both EEG interps if the study was actually done on different days but read and dictated by the physician on the same day? Thanks!!
