If a pediatric patient is receiving critical care during an admission and stabilized but then becomes critical again, would it be appropriate to bill a new initial critical care code? In other words, you would bill 99468 for the initial and 99469 for the subsequent days, but if in the same stay the patient went back into a new critical episode, would it be appropriate to begin again with 99468?

I believe you would bill another subsequent critical if it's during the same hospital admission.

You will bill a subsequent code.
