Hoping someone can help answer this question for me. If a patient has multiple injections on different body parts on the same date of service are the injections paid at a reduced rate? Meaning one is paid at the full reimbursement and the other is discounted? I can't find any information on this. For example J3301 in the knee and then in the shoulder? Please help. Thanks

As always it would depend on the payer and contract, but general rule of thumb is no. Injection/medication payment is usually based on the NDC and not the frequency at which it is administered. Your medical records should clearly define each injection site and reason in case of appeal or medical necessity is required.
