I have a general surgeon who removed 38 subcutaneous lipoma/masses of the arms, legs, back, chest, and abdomen. I know 38 is a lot of lesion removals but how exactly would I bill for these? Depending on the lesion sizes would I use 11402 X19 11403 X11 11402 X6 and 11406 X2?
I am struggling with what would be best in this situation so any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Musculoskeletal

Lipomas are NOT skin lesions.

Usually these are coded from the musculoskeletal section - for example: CPT 25075 - Excision, tumor, soft tissue of ofrearm and/or wrist area, subcutaneous, less than 3 cm.

The size of each lipoma must be documented.

Hope that helps.
