My physician is performing a diagnostic injection at the T2-3, T3-4 and T4-5 levels interspinous ligaments under fluoroscopic guidance. Would the appropriate code be 20550 x 3 along with 77002.26?
The note reads:
Using flouro, the spinous processes of T2, T3, T4 and T5 vertebral bodies were identified and then three 25 gauge 1-1/2 inch long needles were placed in between the spinous processes of T2 and T3, T3 and T4 and T4 and T5 vertebral bodies thus reaching the interspinous ligaments. After placement at each level bupivacaine was injected.
