Unless indicated delayed healing, delayed treatment, foreign body or infection is in the wound, do not assign a "complicated" code. As written: forearm 881.00; right hand 882.0; left thigh 890.0.
 
Good answer by tbrown. You should use the most specific code as described in the documentation, but do not overdo as some diagnosis codes last forever, even if not a correct diagnosis. Example: low back pain is 724.2, but if you put down 724.3 for sciatica, then sciatica becomes the dominant diagnosis and AFLAC will not allow you to get coverage.
