Hello!

What would be the ICD-9 code for a patient that was treated for an acute subendocardial infarction two weeks ago who is now under the care of a nurse practitioner at home? The patient is on Nitrostat prn for chest pains and is to see a cardiologist in two weeks.
 
ICD-9 conventions you would use the 410.7 code with the 5th digit of 2 for each episode of care for eight weeks following the date of onset. This is the episode of care from the patien perspective not from the provider perspective.
ICD-10 CM conventions are different.
