Does anyone know how to bill nail debridement with nail dystrophy for a patient with diabetes? The provider coded 17120 with G0426, but according to NCCI edits, you can never use these 2 codes together. Is there another code you can use with either code G0426 or G0427, and does the diabetes code need to be more specific than E11.9 to include the neuropathy?

I believe you mean 11720, G0246 and G0247? G0247 includes the nail debridement in a diabetic patient with neuropathy and loss of sensation, so you would not also bill 11720. G0247 requires a primary code of either G0245 or G0246; whichever is appropriate based on documentation. Definitely bill with a more specific diabetes code if the information is available.
