Hi,
Please help me to understand better

if navigational bronchoscopy was used during the session where bronchial lavage and transbronchial biopsy was done.

then should the codes be reported as 31628
31624
31627

or are the codes are to be reported as 31628
31627
31624
31627

please let me know if 31627 is reported for every procedure that is performed.

thank you very much

+31627: Bronchoscopy, rigid or flexible, including fluoroscopic guidance, when performed; with computer-assisted, image-guided navigation (List separately in addition to code for primary procedure)

Since it states "procedure" You only use once per claim not per code.

Medically Unlikely Edit (MUE)1<--also lets you know to only report once.

to use code 31627 the note must state that it is a navigational bronch.

my understanding is that the code with the highest RVUs would be listed 1st and then in descending RVU order from there.

RVUs can be found on the medicare website.

31628 = 3.80 rvus
31624 = 2.88 rvus
31627 = 2.00 rvus

Hope this helps. :)
