I have my CPC for the past couple years however I am not a "coder" in the physician office that I have worked for the past 30 years. I do billing, referrals, authorizations, etc. I review the claims before they go to insurance but don't actually code the E/M visits and diagnosis codes. I am trying to find part time work from home (remote) as a coder as eventually I want to do this full time. My question is that I see a lot of the remote positions out there are looking for other certifications besides the CPC. So I'm thinking about getting additional certification. I need your opinions. Should I go for outpatient coder or inpatient coder? Would appreciate any feedback! Thank you!!!
