After obtaining informed written consent, he patients right wrist is prepped and draped in sterile fashion. 5 ml of 1% lidocaine was applied.
Under direct ultrasound guidance access to the right radial artery is achieved with a micropuncture set and the sonographic documentation is obtained as required.
Standard over the wire exchange is performed for a 4 french vascular sheath utilized for arterial blood pressure monitoring purposes. The sheath was secured to the skin with sutures and sterile dressing is applied.

Successful ultrasound guided vascular access of the right radial artery with catheter placement in right radial artery.
