I'm looking for a CPT to designate an IV during a spinal injection. The IV is being used as a precaution, and most times no drug will be administered, but the Dr wants it to be available during the procedure in case of emergency and medication would have to be administered. Would I use 96360-96361 unless a medication is used? We have never done this and I have no experience with it.
