Wiki Need DX Code for Rehab.

What code would you assign for an inpatient/rehab consult that has "disregard for own safety,impulsive, safety awareness problem, non-compliance with instructions". No mention of ataxia or balance issues and the pt can walk 300 ft. ??? Thank you.

Thanks, but this code is a secondary dx only. What would I use as primary?

V57.89. The V15.81 would be reported as additional. Regardless of "why" the rehab takes place, your Rehab ICD-9- code has to be applied.
