One of my doctors removed an A-BiV Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillator and Implanted an A-BiV Pacemaker using existing leads. I'm not sure how to code this. Any suggestions?

Thanks!

I believe the correct code would be 33229 if the old leads were used and only the generator was replaced, you want to think about the end result and code based on that.

I would agree with Julie on this. The patient is having an ICD generator removed and a PM generator inserted. This isn't a removal of a PM generator w/ replacement with a PM generator.
