on 1/20 Dr. did consult in emergency room and attempted externalization but due to failure pt transferred to operative room where Dr. did ventriculoperitoneal shunt with placement of a right external ventricular drain.
on 1/27 pt had:
1. ventriculoperitoneal shunt. strata valve set at 1.0 level of performance.
2. placement of the ventricular catheter using computer assisted technique.
What do you advice? what is the right way to code and do we need modifiers??? please help.
