I am hoping someone can help me with a coding question. Dr. performed an excision of accessory bone/sesamoid of the 3rd digit. The CPT 28315-Sesamoidectomy, first toe, is the code he feels is correct--except for the digit. ?does the "first toe" wording mean: 1st digit, or 1st toe if multiple digits were involved.
