Does the doctor need to perform and EMG when doing an NCV on Medicare patients ? I don't understand the policy medicare changed in Oct 2015

For most conditions, yes, EMG does need to be performed with NCV to be considered medically necessary. One exception is Carpal Tunnel Syndrome when there is strong clinical evidence of CTS prior to testing. There may be others, depending on the LCD for your region.
