Procedure:
Cholangiogram
Fluoroscopic removal of interna/external biliary drain
Fluoroscopic placement of biliary stent
Completion Cholangiogram
Placement of an external biliary catheter

Patient has pancreatic cancer with biliary obstruction. Patient has 8 French internal/external biliary catheter to provide current drainage.

I am very very new to gastro, I am not sure what to code, I came up with this so far but I do not feel 100% and would like any help to confirm accurate codes. Thank you!

47510
75980-59
47500-59
74320-59
47556 (reading states that I shouldn't use this as it is an endo procedure not commonly used with stents?)

Ok, this is what I could find for you:

According to what you gave us to go by you would use the following codes:

47525
47510-59
75980 (Did the doctor do everything here? if not append the 26 modifier)

You can use the 74320 with a 59 modifier but it is a component of the 75980 so your documentation better be a whole lot better than what you gave us to go by.

I don't do fluoro stuff either, my doctors usually do endoscopic ercp but I hope this helps you and guides you to the answer you are looking for.
