Wiki Need help with 31575, 31526 denial

My doctor performed an intranasal laryngoscopy (31575) then performed a intraoral laryngoscopy with miscroscope shortly after (31526) and MediCAL is denying. I was using modifier XS.

Any recommendations?
 
The two codes you listed are mutually exclusive procedures. The XS modifier doesn't work because you still did a Laryngoscopy and are not looking at a separate organ or structure. I would bill only the 31526 because it is the higher in work RVUs.
