need help with inpatient 2ndary diagnosis

Hi all,

I'm trying to find out if the 'Uncertain diagnosis' guide or the contrasting/comparative diagnosis guidelines apply the the secondary diagnosis in an inpatient hospitalization claim for Medicare.

What source would I reference?

the guideline for coding uncertainty in the inpatient setting is not restricted to pirmary, it is any diagnosis that is documented as uncertain.
