I bill for a PA who assists with surgeries. He recently was first assist for a hysterectomy. During the surgery it was discovered that a ureter needed to be repaired and a second surgeon came in to do this procedure and he was first assist. Can I bill both procedures as equal and what modifier would I use? Thanks for any help!!!
